How do you know if God really hears your prayers? How many of you have asked this question at some point in your life? It’s natural to think this because maybe it’s not God’s timing to answer your prayers or maybe he is not answering the way you think he should answer. Whatever reason you are asking this question let’s find if God really hears all prayers.

GOD WANTS TO HEAR FROM YOU

God desires and wants to hear from you. He says in Ephesians that you need to pray all kinds of prayers and ask for everything you need. If God didn't want to hear from you he would not be telling you to pray, right?

Ephesians 6:18, "and pray in the spirit at all times. Pray with all kinds of prayers, and ask for everything you need. To do this you must always be ready. Never give up. Always pray for all of God's people."
And Jeremiah 29:12 says, "then you will call my name. You will come to me and pray to me, and I will listen to you."

GOD IS OMNIPOTENT

Omnipotent means that God knows all things. He is able to do anything, hear anything, and see everything. He created the universe and He knows every word that comes from your mouth before you even say it whether you believe in him or not!

GOD LOVES EVERYONE

Just because God doesn’t answer your prayers doesn’t mean he doesn’t love you. God loves you with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3). He loves you more than you can imagine. He may not be answering you because he is keeping you from getting hurt. We don’t know why he is silent sometimes but we just have to trust that he knows better than we do.

DO GOD HEAR THE PRAYERS OF UNBELIEVERS?

Does God hear or answer the prayers of unbelievers? An unbeliever is a person who does not believe in God or his son Jesus Christ. I believe he hears everyone of us, believers or nonbelievers because he is omnipotent and knows everything. But does he answer those prayers?

The bible clearly states in John 9:31, "We know that God does not listen to sinners, but he will listen to anyone who worships and obeys him."

A person who is an unbeliever, a lost sinner who doesn’t know the Lord as their savior, would not get their prayers answered.

Likewise, if you are a believer and you hold sin in your heart, for example not forgiving someone, your prayers will not get answered until that sin is dealt with. Whether it would be to tell that person you are sorry or just asking God to forgive you for that sin.

1 Peter 3:12 says, "The Lord watches over those who do what is right, and he listens to their prayers. But he is against those who do evil."

The unbeliever doesn’t have Jesus in their life, so they are constantly living in sin. Sin separates you from God. God considers sin evil and wants nothing to do with it.

5 POWERFUL VERSES TO KNOW GOD HEARS YOU

If you know Jesus as your savior and you are going through a season of doubt here are some verses that can help you to overcome those feelings.

Proverbs 15:29, "The Lord is far away from the wicked, but he always hears the prayers of those who do what is right."
Isaiah 65:24, "I will answer them before they call for help. I will help them before they finish asking."
Jeremiah 33:3, "Judah, pray to me, and I will answer you. I will tell you important secrets. You have never heard these things before."
Jeremiah 29:12-13, "Then you will call my name. You will come to me and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will search for me, and when you search for me with all your heart, you will find me."
Matthew 18:20, "If two or three people are together believing in me, I am there with them."

CONCLUSION

So in conclusion, when you don’t believe in the Lord and you have not asked him into your heart, your prayers will be heard because God knows what comes out of every person’s mouth, but your prayers won’t be answered.

Whereas if you believe in the Lord and have accepted Him into your life, your prayers will be heard and will be answered. It may not be the answer that you want or in the timing that you want, but it will be aligned with what the Lord has planned for your life. And He knows your future and knows what is best for you.

In all honesty, isn’t that what you want in your life? Someone who loves you enough to tell you no when it’s not the best decision and yes when it is!
