The Bible teaches that the devil comes to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). Your enemy, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour (1 Peter 5: 8). With the devil prowling around like the bible says you need to somehow protect yourself and your family from evil. You can’t just stand guard 24/7. You have to ask the Lord to protect you. In this article, I want to share with you 10 verses that you can speak back to God to protect you from the evil one.

WHAT DOES JESUS HAVE TO SAY ABOUT EVIL?

Jesus says “Here on earth you will have many trials but take heart I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). There may be evil of every kind in this world but Jesus has overcome evil and every sin and has put it on the cross. So you need to rest in that assurance and know the evil you face does not have to be the end.

DOES GOD PROTECT YOU FROM EVIL ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE?

Yes! God will protect you!

We know that God's children do not make a practice of sinning, for God's Son holds them securely, and the evil one cannot touch them. (1 John 5:18)(NLT)
The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure. (1 Corinthians 10: 13)(NLT)

A PRAYER OF PROTECTION FROM EVIL

Heavenly Father,

Your word says you will always be with me and that you won’t allow anyone to harm me. If I call on you, you will answer. So I am calling on you right now to be with me at this moment. I am fearful of my enemies and fearful that they will overtake me. Place your shield of protection around me. Draw near to me as I draw near to you. Thank you for being on my side and for being my helper and protector. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

CONCLUSION

These bible verses should show you that God is your protector. He is the one you should rely on for everything. Now that doesn’t mean you should go out and stand in the line of fire to intentionally see if God will be there for you. But do know that when the devil decides to attack, you can be ready with the weapon of God’s word. Repeat any of these verses out loud and watch the devil flee from you.
