When God is preparing you for a breakthrough you will sometimes see signs. Oftentimes when we are waiting on God and His promises we wonder if He hears our prayers, knows that we are anxious and struggling to hear from Him, or wondering if there is anything we could do to help speed up the process. But there are also times when we are not waiting on God and God decides to do something big in our lives. We are going to discuss these signs in detail in this blog post.

7 SIGNS FOR YOUR BREAKTHROUGH
Sign #1: When God is about to give you something big, expect an increase in spiritual warfare. I can even attest to this because I am going through a waiting season in my life right now and Satan has been running rampant in my thoughts, telling me God’s not going to do anything. Satan knows what God is about to do in your life and he wants to stop it. When you feel under attack take it as a sign that you are close to something great. Stand firm in your faith and remember God’s promises.
Sign #2: You may have a period of isolation and separation. God will remove people, places, and things in your life that will no longer serve a purpose in the season you are entering in. Relationships may fall apart. People may walk away. In my situation, 3 years ago I moved away from my family to another state. This was due to my husband’s job. It has not been easy moving away from my family and I have been isolated now for 3 years. God has been with me but I am no longer around the people that I love most. God is pruning me during this time. Removing things that may hinder my walk with Him during the coming season.
Sign #3: You will have an increase in your faith and prayer life. You will have a hunger for more of God. You will want to spend more time in prayer and read His word. You will want to experience Him and hear from Him. This is so that you can handle spiritually what he is about to give you.
Over the past several months I have had a strong desire to want more of God. I can’t seem to get enough of Him. I have found that when I feel like I need to hear from Him, I will get alone with Him and take some time to ask Him what it is that He wants to share with me. Otherwise, I used to go to you tube and watch videos of people sharing a sermon and I was looking for God in those sermons. But God told me I was consuming enough Christian content and that I needed to be still with Him. (Psalms 46:10) I needed to be alone and quiet so that I could hear what He wanted to say to me.
Sign #4: You may experience unusual doors that may open. Opportunities will come your way that you were not expecting. Sometimes the small opportunities will become big later on. Do not overlook the opportunities that seem insignificant. Step forward in faith. God will open doors no man can shut. He is behind those opportunities.
Sign #5: You will have testing and waiting. God does not give to hands that can not handle the responsibility. When you can handle the little he will give you much. Waiting time is not wasted time! God is using this season to refine you, shape your character, and build your endurance.
Remember:
- Joseph had to go through being wrongly accused and imprisoned before he reached the palace.
- David had to face Goliath before he became king.
- The children of Israel had to go through the wilderness before they reached the promised land.
- I was told back in February of 2024 that I was going to have children. I thought I was pregnant in April of 2024. But I wasn’t and God told me that I wasn’t yet ready for children. I knew that He was testing me.
If you are waiting, that means God is working behind the scenes and He will release your blessing at the right time.
Sign #6: You will feel an overwhelming sense of expectancy. You will feel excited, and you don’t know why. When you start to feel that expectation in your spirit, you need to start praising God. Start thanking Him in advance because that is God putting the expectation in your spirit when He is about to bless you. Your blessing is closer than you think!
Sign #7: You will have supernatural provision. God will provide everything you need. He will get you prepared for the next step by providing everything in advance. When He calls you to something He will make a way. If resources are coming to you when you are not expecting them, God is setting you up for something great!
WHAT TO DO WHEN GOD IS PREPARING YOU FOR A BREAKTHROUGH
- Resist the enemy with Scripture (choose one verse and speak it aloud).
- Stay faithful in the small things (one step of obedience).
- Pray with expectation (thank God in advance).
- Don’t isolate from wise support (community, church, trusted friend).
CONCLUSION
Remember if God has given you a promise He will bring it to pass. He is not a God that lies. He is not human.
“God is not human, that he should lie,
not a human being, that he should change his mind. “- Numbers 23:19
Don’t give up hope! Keep your eyes on Him! Keep trusting Him! Keep praising Him and keep walking in obedience! Your breakthrough is coming!
A Prayer for Your Breakthrough Season
Lord, strengthen my faith while I wait. Guard my mind from discouragement and help me stand on Your promises. Give me courage to obey You, wisdom to recognize the doors You open, and peace to trust Your timing. I believe You are working—even now. In Jesus’ name, amen.
If you’re in a season of waiting, take heart — God is never late, and He is always at work, even when you can’t yet see the breakthrough. You can trust Him with the process and remain grounded in hope as you wait.
One of the most powerful ways to stay anchored during these seasons is through a daily rhythm in God’s Word. Scripture keeps our hearts aligned with truth, strengthens our faith, and reminds us of God’s promises when the waiting feels long.
