Everyone needs to be encouraged once in a while especially during hard times. I know when I need to be encouraged I always pray for God to give me some encouragement. And he always does!
So today if you are in need of some encouragement look no further. I want to share with you 8 verses that are perfect for encouraging you.
Pick a verse that resonates with you and repeat it out loud or in your head over and over. Think about it. Ponder over it. Let God’s word wash over you. Meditating on the verse can give you some peace and comfort in whatever you are going through.
Back in 2016, God gave me a verse to cling to when I was going through a difficult time in my life. I repeated that verse many times throughout the day. When ever I felt sad or discouraged I would repeat that verse. And I don’t know how to explain it but a blanket of peace surrounded me during those difficult months. Putting your focus on God and his word will give you great peace.
8 VERSES FOR WHEN YOU ARE GOING THROUGH HARD TIMES
John 14: 27 – “I am leaving you with a gift-peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.”
1 Corinthians 16: 13 - Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong.
Psalms 121: 1-2 - I look up to the mountains-does my help come from there? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth!
Matthew 11: 28 - Then Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest."
2 Corinthians 1: 3-4 - All praise to God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.
Joshua 1: 9 – This is my command-be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord, your God is with you wherever you go.
Isaiah 43: 2 - When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.
Isaiah 40: 31 - But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.
A PRAYER FOR ENCOURAGEMENT
Heavenly Father, I come to you with a heavy heart. I have some things that you know are bothering me and I am in need of some encouragement. Your word says that you will be with me. That you will comfort me in my time of need. Help me to be strong and courageous while I wait for you to move. Thank you for the encouragement. In Jesus’ name, I pray Amen.
